This year, our first trip to the lake was in early February when the water was still cold, and the temperatures were mild. It’s a great time to explore the water and all of its coves, as well as, hanging in the channel to soak up some Winter sun, and watch as the crowds change from snowbirds to sun-seekers. I think the transition in boaters happens overnight. However, as more people flock to the lake and river, we (Lake Havasu NOW) start heading to the Sandbar to escape the crowds. We skip the big holidays to hang with family and friends, and spend every Saturday at the Sandbar, starting in June, if not earlier.
